Cultivating an Abundant State of Being
I just finished facilitating an online Abundance class in Japan. It was amazing! We went right back to the beginning and examined our fundamental beliefs about reality. It was astonishing for participants to realize they might hold the belief that ‘life is a valley of suffering.’ Another unexamined belief that resonated with some was, ‘I am helpless because _________.’ This blank can be filled in with many different thoughts: I didn’t go to the right school, I could not afford to go to school, my parents did not support my dreams and told me I was not cut out for whatever it was that I dreamed of doing. What examining these beliefs helped highlight for us was the difference between the circumstance being true (I couldn’t in fact afford to go to school) and the meaning we assigned being true (I am helpless).

The biggest of all these limiting beliefs we uncovered was: ‘I have the truth and no one else does’ OR ‘My group has the truth and no other group does.’ Again there was a sense of astonishment when they really thought that belief through, and realized that perhaps there was space for others to hold equally valid beliefs. Further, they reflected that this kind of ethnocentrism and arrogance has caused more wars over the centuries than perhaps any other belief. Think of the religious wars! This certainty of belief around THE truth is spectacularly limiting - if you are locked into a rigid mindset, there is no room for you to be open to the field of infinite possibility. To be open to abundance.

Over the month we worked together, the students became more attuned to their own thinking processes. They began to notice that if they woke up with a ‘bad hair day,’ their day usually got worse and worse. Alternatively, if they woke up feeling lighthearted and refreshed, their day got better and better.
As a good friend of mine often says, ‘Thoughts become things.’ So, cultivating the ability to pay attention to what is going on in our heads is a powerful tool for creating the reality we want to experience.
Abundance can be the quality of your life, whether it is your work, your relationships or your wellbeing where you are experiencing more than sufficient. Cultivating this state of being begins by paying attention to what’s going on in your head.

Our work with Abundance began after Michael and I got together and when we were deciding what kind of life we wanted to have. Little did we know that somehow our personal work would become helping others to claim their own Abundance after we created Pacific Essences. In fact, you can listen to the story of how the Abundance Essence was created (as well as they accompanying 22 Day Abundance Program, and later the 33 Day Abundance Program) right here.
The 22 Day Abundance Program is a commitment to yourself to examine your beliefs, and it gently guides you to let go of limitations. This is a very deliberate and conscious choice to change your reality. Every day for 22 days you take the Abundance drops, complete the written exercise and/or meditation, and just wait to see what unfolds.
The 33 Day Abundance Program is more playful and equally powerful. By setting an intention, drawing one Abundance card every day, and spending some time writing about its meaning for you (as well as taking the Abundance drops or using the Abundance Spray) you begin to cultivate guidance and intuition. And pay close attention if you get the same card more than once or twice in the 33 days - no doubt the universe is sending you a message!

Many people who have done the Program return to it every year. One of the women in the recent Japan group has done it every year for the past 15 years. She says that doing the Abundance Program helps her to remember that ‘anything and everything is possible.’ Another woman here in Canada also begins a new Abundance Program every January 1. She says, ‘Doing the Program helps me to set my compass towards my goals and intentions for the year.’
I myself have done the Abundance Program over 20 times, and I love sharing it with others. Since we all know that we can’t change ‘out there,’ why not tackle something we can change? – Our own world view and life experience!
